This is a legal process which ends a marriage and is dealt with by the Federal Magistrates Court.

The Court does not concern itself with the cause of the breakdown of the marriage but when contemplating divorce you must be in a position to establish to the satisfaction of the Court that there has been an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage for a period of at least 12 months.
